FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Acupuncture uses one time use stainless steel needles to insert into specific acupuncture points on various parts of the body. The points will be on a meridian that corresponds to a specific organ and system within your body. By stimulating these points the nervous system responds with a release of various neurotransmitters such as endorphins which helps with the relief and cessation of pain. Along with the release of neurotransmitters, acupuncture also increases blood flow. This improved circulation of blood helps deliver oxygen, nutrients, and immune cells more efficiently, aiding in tissue repair, reducing inflammation, and promoting overall well-being.

When receiving acupuncture it is not uncommon to feel sensation with the insertion of needles. The most common sensations can be a heavy, achey or dull sensation at the site of the needle. Initially when needles are inserted you can feel a “stabby” or “pokey” sensation which should dissipate within seconds.

Number of treatments will vary based on each individual and the severity of symptoms.

Acupuncture is great at facilitating the body’s innate ability to self-heal. Clinically I have treated a wide range of symptoms including pain, infertility, reproductive disorders, anxiety, stress induced symptoms, digestive, etc… Please do not hesitate to reach out to discuss your symptoms if you are unsure if acupuncture is right for you.

People respond differently to their treatments. Most feel deeply relaxed after the treatment and others report a boost of energy.

Moxibustion or cupping may be used in conjunction with the acupuncture needles.

Moxibustion is the use and burning of mugwort indirectly onto various acupuncture points. When burned, the mugwort creates a thermal effect that increases blood circulation, improves cellular and enzyme activities, and enhances overall well-being.

Cupping is a therapy that utilizes suction rather than compression for bodywork, lymphatic drainage and rejuvenation. Cupping facilitates rigid soft tissue release, loosens and lifts connective tissues, breaks up and drains stagnation while increasing blood and lymph flow to the skin and muscles. Cupping does have the potential to leave marks on the area of use which usually heal in a few days.

Please make sure to be hydrated and have a small meal or snack a few hours before treatment time. Wear loose clothing and have a quiet space for set up with no distractions. If you do have animals, please make sure they are put up as to not disturb your session. I will assume phones will be on silent as to give your nervous system 30 minutes free of external stimulation while your body integrates your treatment.

Frequency will vary depending on the intensity of symptoms and health goals. When treating chronic pain regular acupuncture treatments spaced a few days apart will give your body the much needed boost it requires to heal. Acute symptoms usually require less time.
In regards to fertility, treatments can span over months as we prepare and build the body for conception or less time when accentuating other reproductive modalities.

Once you schedule your appointment, we will discuss your medical history and current symptoms remotely via Telehealth, addressing any concerns or questions you may have about acupuncture. The day of your appointment we will have a quick check in and you will have 30 minutes of needles in a quiet space. Depending on your needs there may be additional modalities used in your treatment plan which will vary patient to patient. Once needles are pulled we will talk about frequency of treatment and any additional herbal remedies or supplements that may be complimentary to your healing protocol.

Credit card and FSA/HSA are accepted for payment. No insurance is accepted at this time.

    Potential Benefits of In-Home Acupuncture

Do you ever visualize a mobile acupuncture service coming directly to your front door, eliminating the inconvenience of travel and waiting rooms, and establishing a customized healing environment just for you? Well, this is exactly what’s at the heart of in-home acupuncture treatments.

Most significantly, the ability to stay at home during your session can significantly impact your relaxation and comfort during treatments, especially if you find it challenging to unwind. This concept is particularly beneficial for individuals dealing with health issues as it promotes a sense of calm during an otherwise potentially stressful time.

Furthermore, the customization offered by acupuncturists providing in-home services allows for a treatment setting tailored to individual needs and preferences. This level of attentiveness extends beyond mere physical comfort to create a fully tailored experience specific to each patient’s requirements.

Imagine being able to design an environment best suited for your healing; from adjusting room temperature, playing calming music, or even selecting lighting that promotes relaxation. These personalized environmental cues can significantly contribute to associating healing and wellness with your surroundings.

In addition, in-home mobile services provide unique opportunities for acupuncturists by allowing them to be present in an environment that offers insights into a patient’s lifestyle and habits—essential considerations when customizing effective treatment plans aimed at sustainable healing outcomes.

In essence, in-home acupuncture services offer an incredibly calming experience by bringing traditional therapeutic methods right into the heart of your everyday sanctuary—a space where you feel most at ease. This ‘acupuncture-on-demand’ provides seamless access to age-old healing practices mixed with modern comforts without ever needing to leave your house—a true testament to the incredible potential of this ancient form of treatment in a contemporary setting.
